About Waiting Lists, Reservations and Pricing
When we don't have kittens available, we establish waiting lists.
The purpose of the waiting list is to promote responsible breeding by ensuring that we have a loving home for any pet kittens we choose not to keep for our breeding program.
We will place your name on our waiting list with a list of your preferences. This information is 100% confidential and is not shared.
When we know we are expecting a litter, we will contact all the people on our waiting list to inform them that we are expecting babies. Sometimes, we have many months between litters for various reasons. When this happens - we kindly ask you to touch base touch with us. If we contact you 3 times without a response, we'll remove you from our waiting list.
When the babies are born, we generally know the genders immediately. Sometimes, the colors are obvious immediately. Sometimes, we have to wait to see how the colors will turn out (some colors are progressive, like pointed kittens, smokes, lynxes and eye color).
Folds take approximately 28 days before we will know if they have folded ears! If you absolutely want a fold, please contact us about waiting list availability. We will accept a limited number of deposits before kittens are born.
Please understand that things happen. Some new moms aren't as good at tending to their young. Some babies don't thrive as well, some need to be hand fed, sometimes babies just get pneumonia from aspirating fluid during birth. Babies are tricky, and we do our best to ensure they are healthy, and thriving. But we can't control nature, so things happen.
We do accept a small deposit to reserve pick of kitten out of a litter - this is our "A" waiting list. This is refundable if we can't supply you with a kitten of your preference choice color, within a reasonable timeframe. If you change your mind about taking a kitten, it's non-refundable. The reason we do this is to ensure that those who are seriously interested in a kitten, get a kitten of their choosing, and no one's time is wasted by tire kickers. We realize that you may not be 100% sure about a kitten,. In this case, you can choose to not leave a deposit. You will then be placed on the "B" waiting list. For example, if there's two people on the "A" waiting list, and two people on the "B" waiting list, and we have a litter of 3 kittens born, the people on the "A" waiting list get to choose their babies before the people on the "B" waiting list. If someone from the "B" list leaves a deposit, they will now be on the "A" waiting list, and the person on the "B" list is bumped to be contacted the next litter. Note: We will not take a deposit if we are unsure about a future litter, maybe because it's a maiden mom, or we are expecting fewer kittens than normal.
When the kittens are 3-5 weeks old, they are starting to move around on their own, learning to use the litterbox and eat food. At this time, we allow people on our "A" waiting list to start choosing their babies in order. This is also when we can see personality traits emerging, and know about ears if we have a litter of folds. We have always had an open door policy with our babies, but unfortunately, due to a few incidents in the last couple years, we've had to restrict visitors and access to young kittens to prevent illness and infections, as per our vet's recommendation. It's for the health of your, and other people's, future kittens, we've had to adopt this policy.
If we don't have anyone on our "A" waiting list (doesn't happen often), we contact those on our "B" waiting list. By this point, we generally have spent a bit of time talking to you, weeded out potentially unsuitable families (we reserve the right to refuse a sale at any time based on our discretion!) and figured out who is truly interested in adding a kitten to their family, and who isn't at this time. If you aren't ready, that's ok! We want to make sure you are ready for the lifetime commitment of keeping one of our babies. But please, notify us so someone else has an opportunity for a baby.
We do our best to match preferences, personalities, etc to new owners and we try and be as fair as possible, but with the number of people looking for babies, it can be very difficult to juggle preferences and schedules. Sometimes, after we get through our "A" list, we have to adopt a first come, first serve basis for people who are looking for a similar kitten. We will send you a copy of our kitten sales agreement, which outlines the conditions of sale.
When you choose your baby, we will ask for a non-refundable deposit (locally) or a 50% deposit (for out of province). We keep a record of all payments and provide you with a record when you pick up baby. If you change your mind and no longer want a baby, you will lose your deposit. If you change your mind about the specific baby you chose down the road, and another baby is available, you may be able to transfer your deposit over (our discretion applies). If something happens to your baby between the time of reservation and the time it is ready to go home, you can transfer your deposit to another baby, or we will refund your deposit if no other options are available.
We deworm the babies starting at 5 weeks, and take the babies to the vet at 8-9 weeks of age for check-ups and 1st vaccinations. Babies leave when they are physically and emotionally developed enough to leave. Generally, this occurs between 10 & 12 weeks. If we are shipping your baby, they need to be physically big enough, and mentally capable of handling the flight before we will allow them to travel. This is for their safety and well being! If we keep your baby until they are 12 weeks old, they will get their 2nd vaccination and vet check up.
Your baby will come to you with a copy of their vetting records, a copy of their pedigree, a kitten starter pack, and 6 weeks free pet insurance. If you are purchasing a kitten with breeding rights, you will get a copy of their registration slip to register. If you are purchasing a pet, we will wait to register the kitten until proof of spay/neuter is provided to us, at which time, we will submit your kitten's registration online and you will receive it via email. You will have to sign up for a TICA account (no charge), so we can directly register the kitten to you.

Why are our prices the way they are? It takes great care, time, passion and knowledge to breed healthy kittens. We could very easily have purchased two mediocre or substandard "folds" to breed, with low investment cost, but we feel it's very important to breed for specific features and high standards, so the majority of our cats have been imported from Europe or Russia, which comes with significant import costs.
That doesn't include day to day care, food, operational costs. Even priced as they are, compared to other breeders, our prices are well below average.
